VPN’s is a crowded and confused market since the end users are of many walks of life and are not technology literate. VPN vendors and service providers offer VPN only or VPN and security. Some ISP providers venture into VPN services but may not offer a great deal of security. Other ISP’s manage your VPN by actively monitoring your network and provide the customer and analysis of potential security gaps. IP VPN’s have been problematic with respect to security and many users in US have cited many issues they feel IP VPN companies need to address. SSL VPN’s and MPLS VPN services are currently gaining ground.
